Superior Plaque Removal
Oral health matters – in fact, because it affects your overall health, you might even say that “Good health begins in the mouth.” Philips has made it considerably easier to achieve this with its Sonicare HX6511/50, which provides up to 100% better plaque removal, even in difficult to reach parts of the mouth, versus a manual toothbrush.
Recommended by Professionals – Backed by Science
Philips Sonicare is the number one dentist-recommended brand of electric toothbrush – but you shouldn’t just take their word for it: Philips backs their own claims with over 140 publications and abstracts based on clinical and laboratory studies, conducted at over 40 international universities and research institutions. No wonder more than 22 million people worldwide trust the Philips brand!
Versatile and Easy to Use
The brush heads feature bristles that progressively fade, letting you know when it’s time to replace them. Two sizes of brush heads are available – the standard brush head, for focused cleaning, and the mini brush head, for patients with orthodontics or those whose mouths are smaller. The Sonicare is compatible with Philips ProResults, Sensitive, Intercare and DiamondClean brush heads.
Patients with orthodontic work can rest assured that the Sonicare HX6511/50 is clinically proven to be safe for use on braces, dental restorations (veneers, crowns and fillings) and periodontal pockets.
The 2-minute timer automatically keeps track of brushing time, ensuring that you follow the period of brushing suggested by professionals – and powers off the toothbrush when you’re done. Quadpace technology signals when it’s time to switch to a different area, or quadrant, of your mouth after 30 seconds, leading to even, consistent and thorough cleaning.
Philips Sonicare HX6511/50 Conclusion
My experience with the Sonicare HX6511/50 has been wonderful – and I found that the results it provided were excellent, even compared to the costlier and more advanced Sonicare models. Though not as feature-rich as some electric toothbrushes – for example, a lack of pressure sensing technology and variable speeds – it made brushing my teeth an enjoyable and simple process. My teeth and gums looked and felt undeniably cleaner and healthier after about half a month’s time, exactly as Philips indicated they would.
Some user reviews on Amazon have indicated that a dedicated, durable case to protect the toothbrush during travel isn’t included, and though this is a nice feature to have – and is included with some other toothbrushes like the Braun Oral-B Triumph 5000 – it hasn’t yet proven to be a problem for me.
I’d recommend this Philips Sonicare model to anyone looking for a relatively basic, economical electric toothbrush which keeps things simple in regard to features and ease of use, yet manages to deliver excellent performance and results.
