Philips Replacement Toothbrush Heads

Everyone has differing dental needs, so it is essential to choose an electric toothbrush head that will give you the results you are looking for. Philips produces a wide range of different electric toothbrush heads to fit its popular Sonicare toothbrushes, so if you’re looking for effective cleaning, whitening and plaque removal, there is bound to be a brush head that’s right for you…

Types of Brush Heads Available

Philips produces several ranges of brush heads, with the three most popular being DiamondClean, InterCare and ProResults. We’ll take a look at each range in detail below and give you the information you need to help decide which one might be best for you.

In addition, each head comes in either a standard or compact size, so you need to think carefully about which one you would prefer. The standard-sized head makes it faster to clean larger surface areas, whilst the compact-sized version is better for brushing in those hard-to-reach areas.

Finally, Philips electric toothbrush heads come in a variety of pack sizes, so it is worth bearing in mind that buying a larger multi-pack is usually better value than opting for the standard pack of two.

Which brush head type is right for you?

Is a DiamondClean head the best one to go for, or would you be better off with a head from the InterCare range? What about the standard ProResults head?

When deciding on a toothbrush head, you need to think carefully about your specific requirements and desired results. If you’re not sure about your best option, talk to your dentist. They will be able to advise you on which head would be most suitable for achieving dental fitness, and they can even help you to improve your brushing technique for better results and a cleaner, healthier mouth.

DiamondCleandiamond clean heads

DiamondClean electric toothbrush heads contain more bristles than a standard ProResults head and are designed to provide exceptional cleaning, with Philips claiming that it can produce whiter teeth in as little as one week.

In addition, this type of head is capable of removing up to seven times more plaque than would otherwise be possible with a traditional manual toothbrush, whilst it also works to remove up to 100% more surface stains.

I’ve seen DiamondClean heads in high street shops and online retailers starting at around £15 for a pack of two and all the way up to around £50 for an 8-pack.

InterCareInterCare bristles

InterCare Philips electric toothbrush heads aim to provide superior cleaning between your teeth, with the company claiming that it can remove up to seven times more plaque present between the teeth than a manual toothbrush.

The head works to improve overall gum health and is designed to help prevent gum recession and gingivitis. InterCare heads seem to start at around £17 for a pack of two.

ProResultsproresults replacement brushes

ProResults is the standard brush head that comes with Philips Sonicare electric toothbrushes and aims to provide effective all-round cleaning. The range starts at around £15 for a 2-pack and I’ve seen 8 packs go for around £40.

How often should I replace the head on my electric toothbrush?

Philips electric toothbrush heads are designed to provide superior cleaning and plaque removal, however over time this can become less effective. Replacing your toothbrush head on a regular basis is absolutely essential if you want to maintain teeth that are both clean and healthy, however many people are unsure as to how often they should do so…

Most dentists recommend that you replace the head on your electric toothbrush at least once every three-months, although it may be necessary to replace it sooner if the bristles become frayed or worn. A new head will be much more effective at cleaning your teeth and removing plaque from around your mouth.
